Why go
Black-sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, glaciers and geothermal lagoons, all within a few hours of Reykjavik. In winter the aurora dances overhead; in summer the midnight sun keeps the adventures going.
How I plan it
I design self-drive or fully guided routes along the South Coast, Snaefellsnes or the Westfjords, with design-led lodges, super-jeep glacier tours and private soaks in hot springs.
Best time to visit
June to August, or September to March for the northern lights
